Georgia Diving Club
Club History
The Georgia Diving Club began in 1987 as a lesson program for local youth that were interested in developing safe diving skills.  It started with two divers and has grown to its current membership of about 50.  Boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 18 from Athens, Watkinsville, Gainesville, Lawrenceville and many places in between travel to the University of Georgia's Ramsey Student Center for club activities.
Where Does the Club Practice?
The Georgia Diving Club practices at the Gabrielsen Natatorium (Picture to the right) which is located in the Ramsey Student Center on the campus of the University of Georgia. (330 River Road, Athens GA 30606) The facility has two one-meter and two three-meter springboards, a diving tower with platforms levels at the 1, 3, 5, 7.5, and 10 meter, a dryland area with a springboard and trampoline with overhead spotting rigs.  The pool is also equipped with a bubbler system that is used for learning new dives.
